Frequently Asked Questions
Artwork
Most definitely yes! Go ahead and upload it right into your order.
We believe the best designs are still created by artists. We don’t like bragging, but our customer love working with our artists. We help create the designs you envision. Provide clear ideas and instructions on what you'd like… and you're able to request artwork help right inside our system.
Send us your artwork, If you have another file type you need to send, please email it to: info@mytprint.com
I wish we had one. In our opinion, there’s only one really good online design tool, but you’ll pay considerably higher prices with that company. And we think you’ll get better designs if you let our artists work with your ideas and artwork. Or if you’re an artist and have your files ready for print – we’ll use what you’ve made.
If you're looking for a font, we suggest: dafont.com. Make sure to choose a font that is free for your use. Otherwise if you're providing your own vector files, create outlines of the font before uploading the file.
We prefer vector files like: ai, eps, or pdf, but we can work with jpg, gif, bmp, png, psd, and jpeg. Send us the best you have and we can usually work with it.

Due to the inconsistent dye nature of 100% polyester items, a Gray Barrier Base is needed to ensure dyes do not migrate into the prints. It is your responsibility to request a Gray Barrier Base, it is not our responsibility if dye migration occurs.
We recommend using a white base on all colored items except for white, ash, and natural.
Not all colors or fabrics work well/consistently with discharge inks. We do not know the nature of every fabric, dye, or lot. Only choose discharge if you are aware of the issues and abilities. For best results, use 100% or mostly cotton items, with certain colors. Suppliers may have discharge quality charts.
We will charge a late fee beginning at 30 days after invoice is created. There will be a minimum late fee charge of $2.50

About Us
My T Print was established in 2005. Originally hoping to start a clothing company *(fubbershmor), Todd Cooper found there were several people that wanted their own designs printed. He began printing in a basement, which quickly moved to a garage, and soon looked to expand into a warehouse, which My T Print quickly outgrew.
Along the way, My T Print has acquired a few other companies and inherited fantastic and talented people along with those purchases. We now have the capability to print, embroider, print and decorate with vinyl, tackle twill, produce chenille designs, felt application, sublimation, rhinestones, patches, chainstitch and more.
We have two main types of customers: 1. Direct customers, we decorate for hundreds of universities, high schools, companies, teams, and other groups or events. And we ship to them across the United States on a daily basis. 2. Wholesale Customers: We decorate for companies that have their own customers – branding companies, promotional product companies, and other apparel providers and manufacturers.
As of 2018, we have 4 Automatic M&R screen printing presses, 5 manual screen printing presses *(4 X Hopkins, 1 Vastex), 3 Semiautomatic clamshell presses, and 1 One-arm bandit table. On the embroidery side, we have about 50 Tajima heads, including two Chenille machines. We do everything from hats to polos to jackets to banners and blankets. We have 5 heat presses, a plotter for cutting fabric, 2 vinyl printers/cutters, a rhinestone plotter, and a laser engraver.
Our crew of order processors and decorators have years of experience to make sure not only that your order is done accurately but looks professional.
We decorate hundreds of thousands of products each year, which means millions of prints and billions of stitches of experience. We have in house artists who create, separate, and digitize artwork for decoration. We process thousands of orders annualy.
We are on the SanMar PSST program (Pack Separate Ship Together). That means you can drop ship your orders to us with free shipping, even if it’s only a dozen pieces.
We source products from dozens of suppliers, so if you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know and we may be able to find it.
We very much appreciate your Google reviews.

We strive to be your most reliable decorator. If we say we’re going to get it done, we do everything we can to get it done. If that means overtime, coming in at 2:30 am, working Saturdays, we will do it.
Digital Transfers
We call it Digital Transfers but they're also known as Direct to Film or DTF. It's a process where ink is digitally printed onto a film and then transferred onto the item.
Because our set up is less expensive than screen printing, Digital Transfers are likely cheaper when printing multiple colors, 144 or less items, or a combination of the two.
Surprisingly yes! We are impressed that it seems to last as long as a screen print would.
Digital prints are more consistent than screen printing. We especially recommend using Digital Transfers when printing blends, photorealistic images, or 5+ colors.
We can match colors pretty closely. We are currently unable to match neon colors.
Digital Transfers are available in Glitter, Glow, and Reflective
Unlike Vinyl, Digital Transfers do not need to be weeded. So we are able to print finer details.
Digital Transfer is our preferred method for applying names and numbers (personalization) to products.
Embroidery
Some prefer the professional look thread gives to an item. We have several options for embroidery, here are a few:
Digitizing is the process, better ye the “Art” of taking a design and turning it into a format that our embroidery machines can read and stitch from. What’s great about having an in house digitizer is that we have the ability to see an embroidered design and make any necessary changes to make it look good.
You guessed it, needles and thread. We have in house digitizing and several embroidery heads to meet your needs. Keep in mind that fine detail may be lost in the stitches.
Throw in some puff to make your embroidery stand out, literally. We’re seeing puff more and more on hats these days.
We’ve mixed embroidery with several other kinds of decorations. We’ve screen printed onto fabric and embroidered over the top, we embroider with Chenille,Tackle Twill, Sublimated Patches, and even Rhinestones.
We can embroider names, titles, positions, etc.
You can order patches or we can sew them down onto jackets or other items.
Finishing
We can print your labels. Information you’ll need to include in the tag are: Country where the item/product is made, what it’s made of: 100% cotton, 50/50% cotton/poly – for example, as well as the size.
We can separate your items into teams or packages.
Are you ordering for a team? We can separate the order into individual packages, then there's no sorting for you. For wholesale customers, if your items come individually bagged, or you dropped off a box and don't know what's inside, we'll need to sort it.
Make your life one step easier by having us fold each item individually. They'll be ready to distribute.
Maybe you'd like your shirt rolled a certain way, we can do that. Let us know the specifications of your folding and we can get you a price.
Retail ready folded and bagged.
Would you like a size or company sticker on the bag? We can also print those stickers in house.
Throw a rubberband around your rolled up shirt.
Add hangtags to your shirts, one more step toward retail ready.
We can sew in your provided labels, or you can order them through us.
We can rip or cut out the supplier tag and sew yours in. It gives a professional look to your brand.
We can heat apply patches to items. They'll need an adhesive back, or we can add an adhesive back for a fee.
Finishing options may add up to a week to turnaround schedule.
Patches
The in-house patches we provide are Felt, Twill, Sublimated Twill and Digital Transfer patches. We also work with suppliers to provide Chenille (letterman).Leather, Faux Leather, 3D TPU, and Flock patches.
Think of letterman patches or letters. The shag carpet style embroidery adds another dimension to your jacket or other item
Screen Printing
In screen printing, ink is pushed through a screen/mesh stencil with a squeegee. The ink is cured and should last up to several years. There are so many options with screen printing. Plastisol is our go to ink, but we are familiar with discharge, water based, and several other inks and methods. We have the ability to crank out thousands a day, and often, we do. We love playing/testing out different ideas and methods.
The most commonly used ink in screen printing. We print with Plastisol on 50/50 shirts, Hooded sweatshirts, 100% cotton shirts, most items.
A water based print that bleaches to a color and is used on 100% cotton shirts, and leaves a soft feel. It doesn't usually work well with blends *(like 50/50 shirts), and doesn't work with all colors/dyes. Generally Plastisol inks are brighter than discharge inks.
Waterbased ink leaves a soft hand and works best for printing on white and light shirts.
We can screen print up to 10 colors. If you’re looking for a full color graphic, we can do a simulated process screen print, or you could also consider our Digital Transfers or Sublimation if it’s 100% polyester item.
Because screen printing requires a flat surface it is not recommended for highly textured fabrics, printing on seams, or printing on highly curved or shaped items. It is possible that we could screen print to paper and then transfer to the item.
Unfortunately, No.
We have years of experience printing t-shirts to skateboards, bags to stereos, and boxes to umbrellas. We can print distressed, with glow, puff, reflective, or add fire retardant, super gel, or discharge. So many options out there.
Glowing ink can be added as another print color. Along with the standard green glow, custom glow colors can be ordered.
Print that changes colors from UV rays. Colors are very limited.
A heat applied foil can make your design pop, but it is one of our methods that breaks down the quickest
Need to show up in the dark? We’ve got reflective. Because of the consistency of the ink and the micro glass beads, we recommend underbasing reflective ink on all but white items to avoid the dye migration. We do not test or guarantee the reflective print to meet any reflective standards.
Add some thickness to your ink,it will add texture
Add a sticky texture/grip to your design
We can add this to your inks.
Add a tonal print to your items.
Our approximate color match is free. If you need an exact match there will be a fee. Please keep in mind that we discharge ink is more difficult to PMS match, shirt colors and content will affect the discharge print's color.
Take your shirts to the next level, try adding your tag. We can print your labels. Information you’ll need to include in the tag are: Country where the item/product is made, what it’s made of: 100% cotton, 50/50% cotton/poly – for example, as well as the size
Yes, we can print CMYK on white or colored items with relatively smooth surfaces.
Do you have a full color design, or a design that is a photo-realistic? We can run your design through a program that separates the colors into small dots, and when printed together, they appear to have blends
We print fabric, big and small, light and heavy. We’ve printed jacket panels, pillow cases, blankets, bags, hats, scarves, and gloves *(before they were sewn together). If it’s flat, we can likely print it. Large pieces of fabric may be limited to one color prints, and likely cannot be flashed. Multiple color printing would only be possible if there is not tight registration / alignment between colors.
We have some large screen printing tables that allow us to print large areas, up to about 36 inches by 48 inches.
The ink we print with must be cured, so the fabric will be run through a dryer at a temperature of 300+ degrees farenheit. This may cause the fabric to shrink.
Sublimation
Sublimation works with polyester and some other synthetic fibers. You dye the fabric, so you can only go darker. You can’t sublimate a black shirt to white, but you can sublimate white or light fabric or substrate to colors.
Sublimation isn’t good for all fabrics. It is best on polyester and synthetic fabrics or substrates. Usually the higher the cotton content the less the item will hold the colors.
Sublimation is great for printing lots of colors. As of now, we can’t sublimate a black shirt to lighter colors, but we can sublimate white to any color, well, pretty much. Colored shirts will tint the color printed on it. So if you print a design on gray, anywhere your design had white in it, will now be gray.
We can do names and numbers.
You’re only limited to the size size of our heat press: 15 X 17.
Sublimation is heat applied, Performance shirts are often have a mark around the edge of where the paper was heat pressed. It is very difficult to avoid markings from heat pressing, but when possible, we do our best to cut out your design, so it is subtly visible.
We have worked with suppliers for years and offer fully sublimated cut and sew products.
If the fabric and colors work, dye sublmiation is your best option for printing photos. Your results depend on your provided photo quality.
Assuming the fabric is correct for sublimation, once sublimated, the designs are permanent and part of the fabric. If they have natural fibers, there likely will be some degree of washing out or fading.
If you can stick to white or light 100% polyester, then you’re only limited to our print size restrictions. We can do up to 12.5” X 18.5”. A print that has no feel, and will last the length of the item. This can be full color or single color, but remember the print colors will be affected by the shirt color, so white items are preferred, but a light grey item, would give the design a grey tint.
With sublimation you can keep uniforms and applications lighter weight by sublimating instead of layering twill. We can program stitch lines to look like classic multi-layered tackle twill.
Tackle Twill & Felt
Tackle twill is a fabric that is cut sewn down / applied. We use Tackle Twill on uniforms, jerseys, and hooded sweatshirts. Baseball, football, cheer, and hockey uniforms are often done with tackle twill. We can do multiple layers or sublimate the twill to give a lighter feel, but the same look
We also do split fronts on jerseys/uniforms for a premium look and feel.
With sublimation you can keep uniforms and applications lighter weight by sublimating instead of layering twill. We can program stitch lines to look like classic multi-layered tackle twill.
Aside from uniforms, we use twill to decorate larger areas, instead of pure embroidery. Projects we see are banners, large designs on the back of jackets, and blankets.
First we cut the twill fabric into numbers, letters, and designs. Then each layer is sewn down on to the item usually using zigzag stitches. Tackle twill involves cutting letters, numbers, and shapes out of a large piece of material (usually a poly twill but felt, satin, and wool are frequently used as well). Once cut, these pieces are then individually attached to a garment using zigzag stitches.
It is a durable decoration method because it is sewn down onto the item.
Felt applique is treated similar to twill in that we cut the fabric and the layers are sewn down. Often, we decorate with felt on high quality items that are sold retail. Custom cut felt is sewn down on to jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and other items.
Vinyl
Vinyl has come a long way in the past decade, though Digital Transfers have replaced most vinyl use. We now typically use vinyl when material is not agreeable with Digital Transfers.
Our stock of standard colors meets most needs, but we can digitally print to color. Our metallics, glitter, and reflective vinyls look outstanding.
With digital vinyl, you can do camo numbers and/or names, fades, and much more. Vinyl offers flexibility where screen printing cannot. Vinyl can help avoid screen expenses required for screen printing. It will not work with fine detail
Small details are difficult to weed, we normall put a background around small text or details to keep your details.
Simple designs work best for vinyl. Regular vinyl is limited to one and two color.
Vinyl is heat applied, so some fabrics may not be suitable for heat pressing. Performance shirts often leave shiny areas where heat pressed. While there are low temperature vinyls, unfortunately it is very difficult if not impossible to avoid markings from heat pressing
Vinyl offers a reasonable price for names and numbers. Want a camouflage name or number? We can print whatever pattern you’re looking for with our digitally printed vinyl.
Information
Screen printing is the most common method of printing on a t-shirt. In this process, layers of ink are laid down by hand onto a shirt or other garment one color at a time. This process works great for designs that have solid colors. Its crisp edges are well-suited to line drawings and bold text designs. Using process printing techniques we can also create photographic or blended color designs, which may involve as many as 8 print colors. Screen printing is generally the least expensive imprint method, especially at large quantities. Because screen printing requires a flat surface it is not recommended for highly textured fabrics, printing on seams, or printing on highly curved or shaped items.
Embroidery involves stitching a design onto a garment using colored thread. Its professional look is excellent for caps, employee uniforms and bags. Prices are generally competitive with screen printing at small sizes. For very large and complex designs it is a more labor-intensive method than screen printing, but for sheer wow factor nothing beats a large, ornately stitched design. Eye-catching effects can be achieved by using special threads, 3D embroidery or sublimated patches in your embroidery design. SEE ALSO: How do I determine stitch count? What is sublimation?
Vinyl is a very thin sheet of plastic that is fused to the fibers of a garment using a heat press. You may have seen homemade iron-on designs that are thick and easily damaged. Commercial methods are similar in concept, but by using professional equipment and materials we achieve a result that is ultra thin, flexible, and long lasting. Our vinyl imprints will last as long as a screen print under normal use. Because we print directly onto the vinyl with an inkjet printer, vinyl is great for reproducing full color designs at low cost. SEE ALSO: How is pricing determined?
Sublimation is a process by which a design is first printed on transfer paper using heat-sensitive inks. Then, a heat press is applied which turns the dyes to gas and fuses them at a molecular level to the garment. This results in a full color print that is nearly permanent and is indistinguishable from the garment in terms of feel. This process requires a garment that is 100% polyester. Also, colors will be tinted by the garment color, so we recommend printing on white if you want a true full color print. Please call or email for pricing.
We also offer rhinestones, chenille, felt and tackle twill. Please call or email us for pricing. If you're interested in a method that you don't see here, let us know!
For screen printing, pricing is determined by the quantity of items as well as the number of print colors and separate print locations. For embroidery, pricing is determined by the quantity of items, the number of locations, and stitch count. The stitch count is a measure of the number of stitches used in each design. In general, the larger and more complex a design is, the higher the stitch count. For vinyl, pricing is determined by the quantity of items, the number of print locations and whether each location is a small vinyl (such as would go on the left or right chest of a jacket or polo) or a large vinyl. Pricing for other imprint methods varies. In general you can expect the price per item to decrease as quantity increases, and expect to pay a small setup fee for each design.
Standard turnaround is 3 weeks. If you have a specific date you need your order, please indicate on your order. We are not responsible for weather delays to UPS/Fed Ex, USPS, or other shipping company. Please plan ahead and give yourself a couple days’ leeway to avoid any problems with delays. We can also expedite your order by upgrading your shipping to 3 day, 2 day, or next day – additional shipping charges will apply.
Shipping is free for all orders over 12 items at standard turnaround.
The fastest possible turnaround is same day for local, and 2 business days if we need to ship. That time is from the date the order is finalized, assuming there are no specific logistic or production issues that . Keep in mind that rush fees and shipping apply.
We have price breaks at the following quantities of items: 12 (which is our standard minimum quantity), 24, 36, 72, 144, 300, 500, 1000, and 2000. SEE ALSO: Can I order fewer than 12 items? Can I order different colors and sizes of items?
Certainly! However, we do charge a setup fee and a sub-minimum fee, which do not apply to orders over 12 items. We also do not offer free shipping on orders under 12.
For designs with solid colors, simply count the number of colors in the design. The shirt color does not count as a print color unless that color is getting printed in ink as well. For more complex designs such as photographs or designs with blended colors, we may suggest doing a process print, where tiny dots of ink of various sizes are used to create a blended effect. We will have to determine exactly how many print colors this will take, but for photographs it may involve as many as 8 print colors. If the design is not a photograph we may recommend simplifying the design to reduce the number of print colors. SEE ALSO: What is vinyl? How do I determine stitch count?
Currently we are not set up to print over an entire garment. Our standard screen size is 13" x 15" and our oversize screen (at extra cost) is 15" x 22". SEE ALSO: What is sublimation?
Stitch count is a number that is specific to each design. The exact stitch count calculation has to be done by us during the proofing stage, when we digitize the design and convert it to a file that is readable by our stitching machines. If you'd like to estimate the stitch count, typical designs on the left or right chest of a shirt or on the front of a cap average at 10,000 - 15,000 stitches.
Yes! Quantities are divided into Design Groups, which are collections of all of the items receiving a given print. You can order different items, colors and sizes and as long as they are getting the same design, they all count towards the same quantity and get placed in the same design group. Each Design Group receives the price break of its specific quantity. SEE ALSO: What if I want the same print but different print colors?
If you'd like the same print in different colors on different items, we count all of the items as a single quantity and then charge a $10.00 Color Change Fee for each print color and print location that is being changed.
We are happy to print on items that you provide. However, we will need to see them in person before knowing for sure whether or not we can print on them. Also, we will charge for setup and shipping, which are free on orders for which we provide apparel. Please get in touch if you'd like to provide your own apparel!
